Abstract:
“Young people in Africa are leading the design of new programs, activities, products, or services at a rapid pace. As professional designers and innovation specialists, we need to help equip and support young people to apply human-centered design (HCD) principles and processes to their ideas; and vice versa, we need to consider to pro-actively engage youth as our co-researchers and co-designers in the innovation projects we do.”
Taylor Cruz is a Senior Innovation Officer at PACT and member of the Proportion Global community. She decided to move to Zambia in 2019 and has specialised in capacitating youths with innovation skills to stimulate their creative consciousness and critical thinking.
