Ecosystem Map

Goal

Ecosystem maps are produced by designers for service design to understand the interconnections and interdependencies among the diverse actors and components that contribute to the formation of consumer experiences. An ecosystem consists of various actors, components, and processes. Ecosystem maps show your service as a system and how that entire system is connected. An ecosystem is composed of various structural components:

⦾ The individuals who collaboratively shape the overall customer experience, encompassing both the workers and contractors, both in the frontstage and backstage areas.
⦾ The practices they engage in refer to the services or value they provide to clients.
⦾ The data they need, utilise, or exchange to contribute their respective roles in the service.
⦾ The individuals or mechanisms with whom these actors engage in order to fulfil their roles.
⦾ The services provided to ancillary organisations, such as carriers, are available to them.
⦾ The devices they utilise, such as smartphones.
⦾ The means of communication they utilise, such as email.
