Youth-Led Research in Kenya
Situation
Low uptake of Reproductive health services such as HIV testing, care and support, contraception, and cervical cancer screening despite efforts by various NGOs. This led to a need to identify the underlying causes and co-create a way forward.
Assignment
An investigation for and by young people and engaging key actors, especially healthcare providers develop a service delivery model that works.
Approach
Qualitative research study leveraging on Focused groups and consensual measurement approach, as a co-investigator, I supported the research team in collecting data on different interest areas in SRHR such as access and information barriers
Results
Co-designed service delivery models for Reproductive Health services and identified advocacy issues such as policy and guidelines barriers which informed advocacy objectives.
